Properties:

Solubility: Lithium chloride is soluble in water, with a solubility of 67g/100ml water under standard conditions. Solid lithium chloride undergoes an endothermic reaction when dissolved in water. It is also easily soluble in organic solvents such as ethanol, acetone, and pyridine, but slightly soluble in diethyl ether.

Conductivity: Lithium chloride is a good electrolyte, which can form conductive lithium ions and chloride ions in water.

Applications:

1. Lithium-ion battery manufacturing: Lithium chloride is one of the important raw materials in lithium-ion batteries, and can be used to prepare cathode materials and electrolytes.

2. Metallurgical industry: Lithium chloride can be used as a smelting auxiliary for metals such as steel and aluminum.

3. Chemical industry: Lithium chloride can be used as a flux, catalyst, desiccant, raw material for manufacturing organic compounds, and for making fireworks.

4. Laboratory research: Lithium chloride is also commonly used in chemical reactions in laboratories or for humidity control.
