Cr12MoV cold work die steel belongs to high wear-resistant micro-deformation tool steel, characterized by high wear resistance, hardenability, micro-deformation, high thermal stability, high bending strength, and other properties. It is second only to high-speed steel and is an important material for punch dies, cold heading dies, etc. Cr12MoV die steel is a carbon-molybdenum ledeburite steel with lower carbon content than Cr12 steel, and the addition of molybdenum and vanadium elements significantly improves the steel's hot workability, impact toughness, and carbide distribution. Cr12MoV die steel has lower carbon content than Cr12 die steel, and the newly added alloy elements improve carbide inhomogeneity. Molybdenum (Mo) reduces carbide segregation and increases hardenability, while vanadium (V) refines grains and increases toughness. Therefore, Feng Hui's Cr12MoV die steel has high hardenability, with sections up to 400 mm fully hardenable, and maintains good hardness and wear resistance at 300~400°C. Additionally, Feng Hui's Cr12MoV die steel has better toughness than similar materials on the market, and the possibility of volume change during quenching is greatly reduced. Thus, it possesses high wear resistance and good comprehensive mechanical properties, making it suitable for manufacturing large-section, complex-shaped dies subjected to heavy impact and various cold work tools under demanding conditions, such as punch dies, trimming dies, flanging dies, sheet metal deep drawing dies, circular saws, standard tools and gauges, thread rolling dies, etc.

High quenching and high tempering uses secondary hardening to increase hardness, but grain growth may occur. Cryogenic treatment: After cryogenic treatment of Cr12MoV steel, highly dispersed ultra-fine carbides precipitate from the quenched martensite. After subsequent low-temperature tempering at 200℃, these ultra-fine carbides transform into carbides. Untreated martensite only precipitates a small amount of carbides in certain local areas after low-temperature tempering. Feng Hui Cr12MoV uses low-temperature chemical heat treatment methods. While maintaining high hardness and wear resistance of Cr12MoV steel, ion nitriding, gas nitrocarburizing, and salt bath sulfocyaniding—three common low-temperature chemical heat treatment layers—all significantly resist impact adhesion, with salt bath sulfocyaniding being particularly effective.
