Polyurethane Principle:
Polyurethane PU seals are sealing components made from this material. Sealing refers to a device that prevents fluid leakage, consisting of at least one pair of end faces perpendicular to the axis of rotation, which remain in contact and slide relative to each other under the action of fluid pressure and the elastic force (or magnetic force) of the compensation mechanism, with the assistance of auxiliary seals.


Product Characteristics:
Contains strongly polar urethane groups, insoluble in non-polar groups, with good oil resistance, toughness, wear resistance, aging resistance, and adhesion. Materials adapted to a wide temperature range (-50-150°C) can be produced using different raw materials, including elastomers, thermoplastic resins, and thermosetting resins. Not resistant to hydrolysis at high temperatures, nor to alkaline media.

Performance and Applications:
Polyurethane oil seals are mainly used in hydraulic cylinders, easy to install and capable of scraping off dust adhering to the piston rod. Green polyurethane oil seals have slightly lower hardness, while blue ones have higher hardness and can withstand greater pressure. Polyurethane oil seals have good physical and mechanical properties, wear resistance, and oil resistance, suitable for harsh working conditions, effectively preventing the entry of external impurities, thus achieving excellent sealing performance, commonly used in medium and high-pressure hydraulic cylinders.

Chemical Composition:
Common monomers include toluene diisocyanate, diphenylmethane diisocyanate, etc. Polyols are divided into three categories: simple polyols (ethylene glycol, glycerol, etc.); polyester oligomers with terminal hydroxyl groups, used to prepare polyester-type polyurethanes; polyether oligomers with terminal hydroxyl groups, used to prepare polyether-type polyurethanes. Polymerization methods vary with material properties. When synthesizing elastomers, low molecular weight diols are first prepared, then reacted with excess aromatic isocyanate to form a prepolymer with isocyanate end groups, which is then chain-extended with butanediol to obtain thermoplastic elastomers; if chain-extended with aromatic diamines and further cross-linked, cast elastomers are obtained. Prepolymer chain-extended with hydrazine or diamine yields elastic fibers; prepolymers with a higher excess of isocyanate mixed with catalysts and foaming agents directly yield rigid foam plastics. If monomers, polyethers, water, catalysts, etc., are mixed, soft foam plastics can be obtained in one step. Reaction of monomers with polyols in solution yields coatings; adhesives are prepared by mixing polyisocyanate monomers with low molecular weight polyesters or polyethers at the time of use and reacting.
