It addresses urban waterlogging during the flood season, river overflow, and water pollution, thereby reducing the burden on urban drainage systems. It prevents road surface water accumulation, eliminates glare at night, enhances road surface safety and travel comfort, and avoids the formation of a water film between tires and the road surface during rainy days, shortening braking distances and improving driving safety. In winter, the reverse transpiration effect of permeable pavement causes snow and ice on the surface to melt faster than on conventional roads. The melted snow turns into water and drains directly into the ground through the permeable pavement, leaving no surface water accumulation or ice formation. This makes permeable pavement more slip-resistant in winter compared to conventional roads.
