1. Coatings and Ink Industry

High-boiling solvents: Used in high-solid coatings, amino baking paints, coil coatings, etc., to dissolve resins (such as acrylic resins, chlorinated rubber) and regulate volatility rates, avoiding pinholes and orange peel in paint films (extending leveling time due to slow-drying properties);

Co-solvents: Improve pigment dispersibility and adhesion in solvent-based inks (such as metallic inks, plastic inks), especially suitable for scenarios requiring thick coatings (such as container coatings).

2. Organic Synthesis Intermediates

Preparation of Isophorone Diamine (IPDA): Isophorone undergoes amination and hydrogenation to generate IPDA (an alicyclic diamine), which is a key curing agent for epoxy resins (the cured film offers excellent weather and chemical resistance, used in outdoor anti-corrosion coatings);

Synthesis of fragrances and pharmaceuticals: Oxidized to produce ionone (a fragrance intermediate used in rose-type fragrances), or reduced to isophorone alcohol (a pharmaceutical intermediate used in synthesizing antibiotics).

3. Cleaning Agents and Industrial Auxiliaries

Industrial cleaning agents: Dissolve stubborn stains such as grease, resins, and inks (e.g., residual stains on printing equipment, mechanical parts); slower evaporation than traditional solvents (such as toluene), reducing volatile losses;

Rubber and plastic processing: Used as a plasticizer and solvent to improve the processing fluidity of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and neoprene rubber, and enhance product flexibility.

4. Other Uses

Pesticide solvents: Dissolve active ingredients of organophosphorus and carbamate pesticides, improving the stability of the liquid (e.g., emulsifiable concentrate formulations);

Fuel additives: Small additions improve the low-temperature fluidity of diesel fuel and inhibit wax crystallization;

Sealants and adhesives: Dissolve polyurethanes and silicone resins, regulating the viscosity and curing speed of adhesives.
