This specification is based on ISO9001 and incorporates specific technical requirements of the automotive industry, fully aligning with the ISO9001:2015 standard. Its focus is on defect prevention, aiming to reduce quality variations and waste that may occur in the automotive parts supply chain.

The IATF16949:2016 standard was released on October 1, 2016, which holds significant importance in the development of automotive industry management system standards. Typically, this standard is revised every 6 to 8 years.

Please note: The TS16949:2009 standard is an automotive management system standard based on ISO9001:2008. With the release of the ISO9001:2015 version, ISO/TS16949 was officially renamed to IATF16949.
