According to authoritative patent literature, the typical synthesis method of dipentaerythritol is as follows:

Raw material: Pentaerythritol  is the main raw material.

First stage reaction:

Add ethylene carbonate and tetra-n-butoxytitanium (Organics TA-25) as catalysts.

React for 11 hours at 140-170 ℃and 0.055-0.0001 MPa to remove the generated ethylene glycol and unreacted ethylene carbonate.

Second stage reaction:

Supplement with pentaerythritol and add boron trioxide and sodium formate as co catalysts.

Heat up to 190 ℃and continue the reaction for 3 hours at 0.097 MPa.

Product separation: Obtaining high-purity dipentaerythritol through crystallization or distillation.

This method has high selectivity and yield, and is suitable for industrial production
