Sodium Diacetate is a versatile food chemical, primarily used as a preservative, antifungal agent, chelating agent, flavoring agent, pH regulator, and meat product preservative in the food and feed industries. It is also a key raw material for compound antifungal agents. In addition to its excellent antifungal, preservative, and freshness-preserving effects, Sodium Diacetate (SDA) can enhance appetite, promote feed conversion and absorption, and improve the utilization of protein in feed. It is widely used as an antifungal agent, preservative, flavoring agent, disinfectant, and pH regulator. Some examples include:

1. Adding 0.1-0.2% (1-2 kg/ton) of SDA to feed can effectively prevent mold growth, extending the storage period of feed by 1-2 months. Adding 0.1-0.3% of SDA to compound feed and silage can preserve the feed for 3-5 months.

2. As a nutritional flavoring agent:

Adding 0.05-0.2% of SDA to pellet compound feed can increase protein utilization by 11%, improve fish weight gain by over 10%, increase piglet weight gain by 6-8%, enhance weight gain in broilers and ducks by 6-10%, and boost weight gain in beef cattle by 15%. Feed intake generally increases by 10-20%.
