I. Purpose

This machine is used for solid-liquid separation operations involving materials with certain fibrous or viscous properties, such as dehydrated grape pomace after fermentation, ginger, spinach, rubber, Chinese herbal medicine, winter jujube, tea, and other fibrous materials for dehydration or juice extraction. It is also suitable for continuous juicing of sea buckthorn berries that have been destemmed or contain small branches. The sieve pores are specially manufactured according to the size of the material.

II. Working Principle and Structure

This machine employs a spiral pressing mechanism. The working process is as follows: the feeding spiral pushes the material entering the feed hopper toward the pressing spiral. Through the reduction of the spiral pitch and the increase in shaft diameter, combined with the resistance of the sieve wall and the conical body, the liquid content (juice) in the material is squeezed out. The extracted liquid flows out through the sieve pores and collects in the juice collection hopper.

The pressed pomace is discharged from between the end of the sieve cylinder and the conical body. The rear part of the conical body is equipped with a spring. By adjusting the preload force and position of the spring, the discharge resistance and the size of the pomace outlet can be modified to regulate the dryness of the pressed material.

The feed hopper, sieve cylinder, and spiral of this machine are all made of 304 stainless steel.

IV. Installation Preparation

1. The machine should be placed on a flat surface.

2. Check that all parts are undamaged and that all fastening bolts and screws are secure.

3. Fill the gear reducer with sufficient lubricating oil (refer to its user manual), apply grease to the transmission box, and add an appropriate amount of lubricant to the bearing housing.

4. Connect the power supply and perform a test run to ensure the spiral rotates in the correct direction. Run the machine idle for 30 minutes to check for any abnormal phenomena, noises, or instability in operation.

5. Before feeding material, clean and dry the parts that come into contact with the material. Ensure the machine is properly grounded to prevent electric leakage accidents.

V. Usage and Maintenance

1. Before feeding material, close the conical body and the discharge outlet. Adjust the preload force of the pressure spring appropriately via the nut. After the pomace forms a resistance, check the pressing effect and further adjust the spring's compression level and position to achieve satisfactory results.

2. During feeding, prevent foreign objects and other debris from entering the machine. Pay special attention to removing impurities with a diameter exceeding 8mm to avoid damaging the sieve cylinder. Feeding should be as uniform as possible to optimize performance.

3. At the end of the pressing process, release the spring in advance so that the conical body moves under the push of the pomace, preventing the remaining pomace from being overly compacted and facilitating cleanup. If the machine will not be used for an extended period, clean it thoroughly and apply lubricant to rust-prone areas.

4. Regularly lubricate the transmission system, transmission parts, and bearings with oil or grease. During operation, ensure that the temperature rise does not exceed 35 degrees Celsius above room temperature.
