Zigong ZIPG Ball Valve PQ347F Pigging Valve for Pig Launcher and Receiver

A pigging valve is a type of valve used as a launching or receiving device for pigs(such as pig balls, cup pigs, foam pigs, etc.). It also functions as a general two-position shut-off ball valve. It is widely used in industries such as petroleum, chemical, gas, water transmission, printing and dyeing, and food. It is equipment for pipeline construction, cleaning, maintenance, inspection, and management. Using pigging valves along with corresponding pigs makes it easier to complete tasks such as pipeline cleaning, emptying, isolation, and sequential medium transportation. Pigging valves can replace traditional complex pig launching and receiving devices like pig launcher and receiver barrels.

Type C is the standard pigging valve. Its ball bore channel area is approximately 25% larger than the pipeline's internal diameter flow area, allowing a small continuous flow of the medium when the pig arrives(i.e., when it stops inside the receiving valve).

Type B is a pigging valve with a bypass. It has two elliptical channels perpendicular to the ball bore, with a flow area approximately 25% of the pipe's cross-sectional area. This design ensures no flow interruption during pig launching or receiving. Type B pigging valves cannot be used as shut-off valves.

Type S is primarily used for isolating the medium during pigging. Its ball bore area is approximately 3% larger than the pipeline flow area. Additionally, there is an extra seal in the ball bore of the receiving valve to ensure isolation when the pig arrives, achieving isolation. More importantly, it protects the floating roof of internal floating roof tanks during pigging, preventing accidents.
