Introduction:

AL1250 is a synchronous buck converter that supports a wide input voltage range of 5V to 100V. It integrates high-side and low-side power MOSFETs, eliminating the need for an external rectifier diode to achieve high efficiency, and can support continuous load currents of up to 1.2A. With its low quiescent current during standby or light-load conditions in sleep mode or pulse skipping mode, it further extends battery life, making it suitable for battery-powered applications. AL1250 employs a constant on-time control mode, providing fast transient response and simplified loop stability. It supports low equivalent series resistance output capacitors, such as multilayer ceramic capacitors and special polymer capacitors, without requiring an external compensation circuit. The switching frequency can be easily set via an external resistor.

AL1250 integrates an internal VCC bias supply to save external VCC capacitance. An open-drain PG indicator provides sequencing, fault indication, and output voltage monitoring functions. AL1250 offers multiple protection mechanisms, including input undervoltage protection, cycle-by-cycle peak and valley current limiting, short-circuit hiccup protection, and thermal shutdown auto-recovery protection. AL1250 is available in an SOIC8EP package.
