The rapid development of titanium alloy has gained recognition in international industrial and aerospace sectors, especially TC4 titanium bar, TC4 titanium alloy bar, and TC4 titanium forgings, which have the strongest market prospects. Ti-6Al-4V titanium bar and GR5 titanium bar possess the following special properties:

(1) TC4 titanium bar Ti6Al4V belongs to the α+β type alloy and is widely used.

(2) TC4 titanium bar has good processability. Its conventional hot deformation is carried out in the two-phase region, and the deformation must be greater than 50% to transform the coarse original Widmanst?tten structure into an equiaxed structure.

(3) After deformation processing, TC4 titanium bar can undergo various heat treatment processes depending on requirements, such as stress relief annealing (600°C holding, air cooling), ordinary annealing (700-800°C holding, air cooling), recrystallization annealing (940°C holding followed by furnace cooling to 480°C and air cooling), and double annealing (940°C holding and air cooling + 700°C holding and air cooling). Stress relief annealing and ordinary annealing result in non-recrystallized or partially recrystallized structures with higher strength; recrystallization annealing yields an equiaxed α + intergranular β structure with better plasticity; double annealing produces an equiaxed α + β structure, close to a bimodal structure, with good comprehensive properties (approximately 900-1000 MPa, δ of 10%, ψ of 35%-45%).

(4) Strengthening heat treatment of TC4 titanium bar can increase strength by 20%-30%. It is generally believed that aging at 850-950°C can achieve a microstructure with an appropriate amount of primary α and good comprehensive properties. TC4 alloy has poor hardenability, and the cross-section of parts undergoing strengthening heat treatment is generally no larger than 40 mm.

(5) TC4 titanium bar alloy has good weldability, with the weld zone temperature not lower than 90% of the base metal; its plasticity is also similar to that of the base metal.

(6) The corrosion resistance of TC4 titanium bar is close to that of pure titanium. It can work for long periods below 400°C, with short-term working temperatures reaching 700-750°C. When the oxygen and nitrogen content in the alloy is low, TC4 ELI alloy can maintain good plasticity at -196°C and can be used to manufacture low-temperature high-pressure containers.
