I. Product Overview
       Reactive power compensation capacitors are essential devices for maintaining reactive power balance in power systems. In recent years, the issue of reactive power has gained widespread attention from power authorities, and complete sets of reactive power compensation devices have been extensively deployed in distribution networks. The power supply requires real-time balance between active and reactive power. Therefore, reactive power compensation devices must meet the demands of automatic tracking and real-time compensation, which inevitably involves frequent switching operations of reactive power capacitor banks. The switching operations of capacitor banks can generate overcurrent and overvoltage surges, leading to capacitor damage. To ensure equipment reliability, detect capacitor defects early, and prevent fault escalation, regular testing is necessary. In the field, capacitors are typically connected in parallel groups. The traditional method involves disassembling the capacitor busbar and measuring with an old-style capacitance meter. Since capacitor banks consist of dozens to hundreds of small capacitors, the workload of disconnecting wires for capacitance measurement is substantial. Moreover, frequent disassembly may cause screw threads to wear or loosen, posing safety hazards and potentially causing secondary damage to the capacitors. Therefore, there is a strong demand for a testing instrument that can measure the capacitance of individual small capacitors without disconnecting wires, thereby reducing the burden on maintenance personnel, improving the efficiency of maintenance work, and enhancing the operational safety of distribution networks.
       Addressing the practical field conditions, our company has developed an instrument utilizing a novel testing method—the "KERGY-B Fully Automatic Three-Phase Capacitance and Inductance Tester." This instrument can measure single-phase capacitance of grouped parallel capacitors or three-phase capacitors with various connection types without disconnecting wires. It is also capable of measuring the inductance of various reactors and can function as a power frequency current tester. With convenient wiring and simple operation, this instrument reduces the workload of maintenance personnel, significantly improves field testing efficiency, and provides safety assurance for the normal operation of the power grid.
II. Features
      1. The instrument can measure individual single-phase capacitance of grouped parallel capacitors without disconnecting wires, as well as simultaneously measure three-phase capacitors with various connection types. It can also measure the inductance of various reactors and serve as a power frequency current tester, offering three functions in one device to meet diverse field applications;
      2. During measurement, the instrument displays the capacitance or inductance value along with voltage, current, power, frequency, impedance, phase angle, and other data to better analyze the condition of the test object;
      3. The instrument features a 240×128 large-screen backlit LCD display, ensuring clear visibility both day and night, with Chinese menu prompts for easy operation;
      4. Built-in large-capacity non-volatile memory: can store up to 50 sets of measurement data;
      5. Built-in high-precision real-time clock function: allows for date and time calibration;
      6. Equipped with a high-speed mini thermal printer: can print current and historical data;
      7. Overcurrent protection for the test power supply: output short-circuit will not damage the instrument.
