Potential Application Areas:

1. Nano tungsten disulfide is mainly used as a petroleum catalyst: it can serve as a hydrodesulfurization catalyst and is also used in processes such as polymerization, reforming, hydration, dehydration, and hydroxylation. Due to its good cracking performance, stable and reliable catalytic activity, and long service life, it is highly favored by oil refineries;

2. In the preparation technology of inorganic functional materials, nano tungsten disulfide is a new and efficient catalyst. Because it can form new compounds with a layered structure, nano tungsten disulfide can be made into a single-molecule layer two-dimensional material and can be restacked as needed into granular new materials with a very large internal space, known as "floor room structure." During the restacking process, intercalation substances can be added to make it a catalyst, sensitive display, or superconducting material. Its huge internal surface area easily incorporates promoters, making it a new and efficient catalyst. The Nagoya Institute of Technology in Japan found that nano tungsten disulfide has significant catalytic effects in the process of converting CO2 to CO, which will promote the development of carbon cycle technology and pave the way for improving the trend of global warming;

3. Tungsten disulfide can be used as a solid lubricant, dry film lubricant, and self-lubricating composite material: Nano tungsten disulfide is an excellent solid lubricant with a friction coefficient of 0.01–0.03 and a compressive strength of up to 2100 MPa. It has the advantages of resistance to acid and alkali erosion, good load-bearing performance, non-toxicity, wide usage temperature range, long lubrication life, and low friction coefficient. In recent years, the ultra-low friction and wear displayed by hollow fullerene nano tungsten disulfide as a solid lubricant have attracted much attention. For example, in the 1980s, the United States used nano tungsten disulfide particles sprayed onto metal surfaces to form tungsten disulfide lubricating dry films, greatly reducing the friction coefficient and improving mold life;

4. Nano tungsten disulfide is a very important additive for manufacturing high-performance lubricating oils. Research has found that adding an appropriate amount of tungsten disulfide nanoparticles to lubricating oil can greatly improve the lubrication performance, reducing the friction coefficient by 20%–50% and increasing the oil film strength by 30%–40%. Its lubrication performance is far superior to that of nano molybdenum disulfide. Under the same conditions, the lubrication performance of base oil with added nano tungsten disulfide is significantly better than that with conventional particles, and it has good dispersion stability. Research results show that due to the combination of fluid lubrication and solid lubrication advantages, lubricants with added nanoparticles are expected to achieve full-range lubrication from room temperature to high temperature (exceeding 800°C). Therefore, nano tungsten disulfide can be used as an additive to synthesize new lubrication systems and has broad application prospects;

5. It can also be used as the anode for fuel cells, organic electrolyte rechargeable batteries, anodes for sulfur dioxide oxidation in strong acids, and sensor anodes, etc.;

6. Used for making nano ceramic composite materials;

7. It is a good semiconductor material.

Packaging and Storage
