Trichloroethylene is used to produce tetrachloroethylene, which serves as an anthelmintic drug; it is also used to produce hexachloroethane, which acts as a veterinary anthelmintic for the prevention and treatment of liver fluke and stomach fluke diseases in ruminants, as well as trematodiasis and nematodiasis.
