Nanoscale glass micropipette shaping requires precise craftsmanship and sophisticated control. After years of continuous improvement in micropipette pullers, Sutter pullers represent the state-of-the-art in micropipette manufacturing. From the user-friendly P-1000 touchscreen to the P-2000 (one of the few pullers on the market capable of fabricating pipettes from pure quartz tubing), Sutter pullers have become the world standard.

The P-1000 is the latest upgrade of the Flaming/Brown? type micropipette puller. This puller expands on the capabilities of the P-97, featuring a color touchscreen and incorporating new technologies that simplify programming. Its unique functions, such as safe heat mode, diagnostic testing, filament repeat mode, and jaw temperature sensors, help create ideal pipette shapes. Pre-installed Sutter pipette operation manuals, glossaries, and help topics provide easy access to an extensive library of programs. Both pullers offer: microprocessor-controlled programmability, constant current power supply, independent precision air delivery system, and a patented speed-sensing system. These design elements significantly improve pipette reproducibility compared to other micropipette pullers.

The most advanced micropipette puller technology currently available is the P-2000. It combines the mechanical design and programmability of the Flaming/Brown puller but uses a CO ₂ laser as the heat source. The inclusion of the laser allows for the pulling of quartz tubing as well as other low-melting-point glass compositions. Quartz pipettes help eliminate some technical barriers in electrophysiological research and enhance microinjection procedures and imaging in near-field scanning microscopy.

The P-30 is our most affordable and simplest-functioning puller, based on the 1950s NIH design. As a vertical puller, it meets the basic requirements for pipette pulling devices and includes some additional features. It is suitable for basic micropipette fabrication, sharp electrode production, and microinjection operations.
