Tetrahydropalmatine, also known as dl-tetrahydropalmatine, is primarily extracted and refined from the dried tubers of Corydalis yanhusuo, a plant in the Menispermaceae family. It appears as white to pale yellow crystals or crystalline powder, odorless, with a slightly bitter taste. It is prone to deterioration when exposed to light and should be stored sealed and protected from light. It is readily soluble in chloroform, soluble in ethanol, slightly soluble in water, and belongs to the class of alkaloid compounds.
