Ultrapure water systems are water treatment equipment that employs methods such as pretreatment, reverse osmosis technology, ultrapurification treatment, and post-treatment to almost completely remove conductive media from water, as well as reduce non-dissociating colloidal substances, gases, and organic matter to very low levels. Ultrapure water systems are also known as: ultrapure water units, ultrapure water equipment, ultrapure water instruments, ultrapure water systems, and laboratory ultrapure water units. The resistivity of ultrapure water produced by these systems should generally be greater than 10 megohms, and water with a resistivity above 10 megohms is referred to as ultrapure water. High-quality ultrapure water output can reach 18.25 megohms.

Technical Principle

Ion exchange in ultrapure water systems is a specific solid adsorption process that occurs in the electrolyte solution of an ion exchanger. A typical ion exchanger is a water-insoluble solid granular material, known as ion exchange resin. It can absorb certain cations or anions from the electrolyte solution and release an equivalent amount of another ion with the same charge into the solution. This is referred to as ion exchange. Based on the type of ions exchanged, ion exchangers can be divided into two main categories: cation exchangers and anion exchangers.
