Tributyl phosphate is an organic compound with the chemical formula C12H27O4P/(C4H9)3PO4. It is a colorless liquid with a pungent odor. Primarily used as a solvent, it also serves as a plasticizer for nitrocellulose, cellulose acetate, chlorinated rubber, and polyvinyl chloride, as well as an extractant for rare metals and a heat exchange medium. Due to its low surface tension and poor solubility in water, it can be used as an industrial defoamer, effectively destabilizing formed foam films for rapid defoaming. Not suitable for use in food/cosmetics.
Tributyl phosphate is available as 99% and 30% defoamer, packaged in 200kg/drum and 170kg/drum respectively.
