Qinghai Western Magnesium Co., Ltd., a subsidiary controlled by Western Mining Group Co., Ltd., is recognized as a high-tech enterprise by the Qinghai Provincial Department of Science and Technology. Established in 2006 with a registered capital of 500 million yuan, the company's shareholders include Western Mining Group Co., Ltd. (91.40%), Hailiang Group Co., Ltd. (4.23%), individual shareholder Xu Hui (3.07%), and Central South University Assets Management Co., Ltd. (1.30%). Located in the Industrial Park of Delingha City, Qinghai Province, the company covers an area of 600 acres and employs 400 people.
       The company possesses a rich magnesium brine mine spanning 25.3 square kilometers, with magnesium chloride content exceeding 47% and total reserves of 60 million tons. Its designed production capacity is 100,000 tons/year of high-purity magnesium hydroxide, which was expanded to 150,000 tons/year in 2019. The main products include high-purity sintered magnesia, high-purity magnesium hydroxide raw powder, high-purity magnesium oxide, high-purity fused magnesia, high-purity magnesium hydroxide fine powder (5-6μm), and high-purity magnesium hydroxide fine powder (1-2μm). All products have a purity of over 99% and are widely used in flame retardancy, medical, military, aerospace, new energy, and other fields, with most products sold in international markets. The company holds three patents and three scientific achievements, including the continuous production of high-purity magnesium hydroxide using the salt lake brine-ammonia lime combined method, solving the worldwide challenge of magnesium hydroxide filtration and washing performance.
       In 2017, the company was recognized as a "High-Tech Enterprise" by the Qinghai Provincial Department of Science and Technology.
