        Scope of application: The primary use is as a non-ionic solubilizer for the preparation of aqueous parenteral formulations. Description: Kolliphor HS 15 is a yellowish-white paste that turns into a liquid at about 30°C. Composition: Kolliphor HS 15 consists of polyethylene glycol mono- and diesters of 12-hydroxystearic acid (= lipophilic part) and free polyethylene glycol (= hydrophilic part).

The free polyethylene glycol can be determined by HPLC to be about 30%, along with diesters. This method is available upon request.

It is used in the manufacture of aqueous parenteral formulations containing vitamins A, D, E, and K, as well as lipophilic APIs such as propofol, miconazole, alfadolone, alphaxalone, nifedipine, and piroxicam. Kolliphor? HS 15 is soluble in water, ethanol, and 2-propanol. As a solubilizing agent, it is particularly suitable for parenteral and oral dosage forms and is very well-suited for veterinary formulations.
