Emulsions of compounds such as methyl silicone oil are commonly used in industrial applications. These emulsions are water-soluble and offer high heat resistance, easy cleaning, good corrosion and fire resistance, minimal environmental pollution, and relatively safe transportation and storage.

Due to their high water content, water-based form release agents differ in many aspects from traditional oil-based or solvent-based release agents. The release effect of water-based form release agents depends on a film only a few micrometers thick deposited on the mold cavity surface after spraying. Therefore, there are higher requirements for ingredient selection and process application.
