Slope protection net is a very important protective material, widely used in slope protection engineering projects. The wire mesh is a crucial component that effectively prevents disasters such as rockfalls, mudslides, and avalanches. Therefore, for safety reasons, when inspecting slope protection nets, it is necessary to conduct a tensile breaking force test on the mesh surface.
The test method for the tensile breaking force of the flexible slope protection net chain mainly includes the following steps:
Test equipment: Ensure that the loading equipment used for the test has a loading stroke not less than the tensile breaking limit length of the chain, and the equipment must comply with the specifications of JT/T 1328-2020.

Sample preparation: The tensile sample should consist of at least three rings connected in series. The sample should be cut from the finished mesh or separately manufactured using the same raw materials and processes as the finished product. Each test group should include three samples.
Test method:
The test should be conducted at room temperature (10°C–35°C) and comply with the requirements of GB/T 228.1.
During sample installation, the wire rings at both ends of the sample should be fixed to the test equipment using a circular cross-section component with a diameter not less than 50 mm and not less than four times the diameter of the wire bundle.
Before starting the test, the sample should be slightly stretched; after it stabilizes, the tensile force should be slowly released to zero.
Apply tensile loading at a uniform speed of 2 mm/s until the sample breaks, then stop loading.
An automatic recorder should be used for the tensile test to continuously record the tensile force and elongation values, and to plot a force-elongation graph.
Through the above steps, the tensile breaking force of the flexible slope protection net chain can be effectively tested, ensuring its safety and reliability in practical applications.
