1720E Low Range Turbidity Online Analyzer with Flexible Calibration HACH

Working Principle:

Incandescent light emitted from the sensor's light source assembly travels downward into the turbidity analyzer and encounters suspended particles in the sample, generating scattered light. The photoelectric detector submerged in the water sample detects scattered light at a 90-degree angle to the incident beam. A continuously flowing water sample passes through a bubble elimination system, which removes air bubbles entrained in the sample stream. This ensures the turbidity analyzer remains unaffected by changes in sample flow rate and pressure, thereby eliminating the most significant interference factor in low-range turbidity measurement.

The 1720E Low Range Turbidity Analyzer can be used for turbidity monitoring in water treatment plants—such as pre-filtration, post-filtration, sedimentation, and finished water—municipal pipe network water quality monitoring, industrial process water monitoring, turbidity measurement in circulating cooling water, activated carbon filter effluent, and membrane filtration effluent. It is a stable and widely applicable online turbidity analyzer.

Built-in bubble elimination system ensures the instrument is unaffected by flow rate and pressure, effectively preventing interference with good reproducibility.

Uses USEPA (United States Environmental Protection Agency) certified methods for stronger data universality.

Flexible calibration: supports both two-point calibration at 0 and 20 NTU (recommended method) and single-point calibration by comparison at any point within the 1–40 NTU range.

In addition to NTU, multiple auxiliary measurement units are available: FTU, TE/F, mg/L.

Simple cleaning and maintenance; calibration required every three months.
