ABI is the ratio of ankle systolic blood pressure to brachial systolic blood pressure. Based on the results, it can determine the stenosis and obstruction of lower limb arteries. ABI is significant for the diagnosis and postoperative monitoring of obstructive arteriosclerosis.
PWV/ABI Testing Applicable Population:
(1) Individuals aged 20 years or older; those already diagnosed with hypertension (including borderline hypertension), hyperlipidemia, diabetes (including elevated fasting blood glucose and impaired glucose tolerance), coronary heart disease, and stroke;
(2) Those with high-risk factors for cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, such as a family history of early-onset cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, obesity, long-term smoking, high-fat diet, lack of physical exercise, etc.;
(3) Those with symptoms such as long-term dizziness and discomfort, without a clear diagnosis; those with symptoms of chest tightness, palpitations, or other precordial discomfort during activity or at rest, without a clear diagnosis;
(4) Individuals undergoing health check-ups.
