Working Principle: By applying electrical pulses to the ultrasonic transducer, the transducer emits ultrasonic waves that penetrate the heel of the test subject and reach another ultrasonic transducer. Since the speed and attenuation of ultrasound vary when passing through different bone densities, the ultrasonic bone densitometer calculates parameters such as T-Score (T-value) and Z-Score (Z-value) based on SOS (Speed of Sound) and BUA (Broadband Ultrasound Attenuation). These results are displayed on a monitor or printed for doctors to diagnose and reference.
Scope of Application: Uses ultrasound to measure bone density values in the heel area.
