ABI is the ratio of ankle systolic blood pressure to brachial systolic blood pressure. Based on the results, it can determine the stenosis or obstruction of lower limb arteries. ABI is significant for the diagnosis and postoperative monitoring of obstructive arteriosclerosis.

PWV/ABI Testing Applicable Population:

(1) Individuals aged 20 years or older; those diagnosed with hypertension (including borderline hypertension), hyperlipidemia, diabetes (including elevated fasting blood glucose and abnormal glucose tolerance), coronary heart disease, and stroke;

(2) Those with risk factors for cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, such as a family history of early-onset cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, obesity, long-term smoking, high-fat diet, and lack of physical exercise;

(3) Those experiencing symptoms such as long-term dizziness and discomfort without a clear diagnosis; those with chest tightness, palpitations, or other precordial discomfort during activity or at rest without a clear diagnosis;

(4) Individuals undergoing health check-ups.
