1. Overview
The CVBS video overlay controller developed by Ningpengda Technology is a video signal processing and control product. Its primary function is to process the input CVBS video signal, enabling specific characters and graphics to appear at designated positions on the output CVBS video signal's corresponding screen. Visually, this is equivalent to "overlaying" characters and graphics onto the video image. In general applications, character and graphic overlays are mainly used for menu operations, logo display, numerical display, scale marking, or screen segmentation. With the increasing variety of video products and the expansion of application fields, overlaying characters and graphics on the original video image can enhance product functionality and improve user experience for many video products. Using this product to achieve the overlay function does not involve modifications to the video signal source, video display screen hardware or software, or editing of video program content. Therefore, this product is not only suitable for the development of new products but can also be used for upgrading existing equipment. This product is meticulously crafted using the latest semiconductor devices combined with modern electronic assembly processes, offering advantages such as stable performance, compact size, and easy installation. The product's functionality is realized by directly processing analog video signals, with the video output signal being real-time synchronized with the video input signal. Additionally, this product employs special technology, providing outstanding advantages compared to similar products on the market, including no damage to the input signal, no delay in output response, no jitter in overlay content, high signal processing precision, and the ability to achieve semi-transparent and automatic reverse effects. Furthermore, this product can also serve as a replacement for discontinued OSD chips such as MB90092, M35055, μPD6453, μPD6464A, MAX7456, MTV018, STV5730A, and LC74788. Compared to traditional OSD chips, this product offers advantages such as rich overlay content, flexible use, low customization threshold, and high cost-effectiveness, while also addressing the shortcomings of traditional OSD chips, such as the inability to overlay full-screen continuous lines, extremely fine lines, and large-area graphics. This product can overlay various characters and graphics, with overlay content, position, spacing, grayscale, display form, adjustment range, and other supporting functions customizable according to customer requirements. The product is available in three forms for customers to choose from: component type, board type, and device type. All products are compatible with PAL and NTSC systems, suitable for various display ratios. Video interfaces, control interfaces, power interfaces, and related parameters can be customized based on the customer's specified video signal source, video display screen, actual application scenarios, and functional requirements.
