Applicable Materials

Steel and cast steel, alloy tool steel, stainless steel, gray cast iron, ductile cast iron, cast aluminum alloy, copper-zinc alloy (brass), copper-tin alloy (bronze), pure copper, forged steel.

Main Applications

1. Hardness testing of products in mass production processes; a standard set is generally sufficient to meet testing requirements.

2. Hardness testing for heat treatments such as annealing, tempering, and quenching; if there is a hardened layer, pay attention to its thickness. If the hardened layer is too thin, select a C-type impact device.

3. When testing the hardness of bearings, note the bearing diameter. If the diameter is too small, choose a special support ring.

4. For gear hardness testing, if the gear is too small, select a DL impact device.

5. When testing castings, if surface finish is difficult to achieve, choose a G-type impact device.

Testing Range

Note: When using a Leeb hardness tester, the workpiece must meet the corresponding testing conditions, mainly in three aspects: the workpiece weight should not be less than 2 kg, the minimum thickness should not be less than 10 mm, and the surface roughness should not exceed 1.6 μm. If the above conditions are not met, secure support or dense coupling is required!
