Solar Photovoltaic System Efficiency Analysis

1) Photovoltaic Temperature Factor

     Photovoltaic cells efficiency changes with their operating temperature. When their temperature increases, most types of photovoltaic cells show a decreasing trend in efficiency. The derating factor is taken as 96%.

2) Dust Loss of Photovoltaic Array

      Due to pollution caused by dust or accumulated water on photovoltaic modules, statistics show that the impact on frequently rain-washed photovoltaic modules averages between 2~4%, while for dirtier modules without rain washing, the impact averages between 8~10%. The project location experiences windy springs and rainy summers. Considering comprehensively, the derating coefficient is taken as 3%, meaning the pollution derating factor is 95%.

3) Average Inverter Efficiency

Currently, the average efficiency of grid-connected photovoltaic inverters is about 97.5%.

4) DC Power Distribution Loss of Photovoltaic Array

Preliminary estimates indicate that the DC power distribution loss of the photovoltaic array is about 1.5%. The comprehensive distribution loss coefficient is 98.5%.

5) Unit Availability

       Although the failure rate of solar cells is extremely low, regular maintenance and grid faults still cause certain losses. The loss coefficient is taken as 1%, and the availability of the photovoltaic power generation system is 99%.

6) Energy losses such as internal power consumption, step-up transformer loss, and line loss in the photovoltaic power plant account for 2%, with a utilization rate of 98%;

7) Solar panel variability loss is 2%, with a utilization rate of 98%.

8) Unusable radiation loss in the morning and evening is 2%, with a utilization rate of 98%.

Combining the above derating factors, the comprehensive efficiency of the fixed polycrystalline silicon battery array system is 81.6%.
