Lianyungang Dead Sea Bromine Co., Ltd. is a joint venture established in 1995 by Israel's Dead Sea Bromine Group and Lianyungang Seawater Chemical Co., Ltd. It is currently the largest specialized producer of methyl bromide in China and Asia. As a subsidiary of Israel Chemicals Ltd. (ICL), the company leverages the unique bromine product resources and technological advantages of the Dead Sea Bromine Group, along with Lianyungang's favorable industrial policies and cultural environment. Over more than a decade, the company has experienced significant growth, particularly after relocating to the Lianyungang Banqiao Industrial Park in 2008, where it underwent comprehensive upgrades in infrastructure, environment, safety, process control, and product quality. The company's main products include the fumigant methyl bromide and the water treatment agent methylene dithiocyanate (MBT). It currently has an annual production capacity of 4,000 tons of methyl bromide and 500 tons of methylene dithiocyanate. Methyl bromide, the flagship product, is one of the most effective, broad-spectrum, economical, and rapid fumigants developed to date. It is widely used in animal and plant quarantine, ship cargo holds, containers, wooden packaging, logs, and pre-shipment fumigation of import and export goods at ports, as well as soil fumigation and disinfection for important cash crops such as ginger, strawberries, vegetables, flowers, turf, and Chinese medicinal herbs. Additionally, methyl bromide is extensively used in the chemical, pharmaceutical, pesticide, and fragrance industries. Methylene dithiocyanate, as a broad-spectrum and highly effective bactericide, strongly inhibits and kills many bacteria, fungi, yeasts, and algae by suppressing respiratory enzyme systems. It is widely used as a water treatment agent, industrial mildew inhibitor, pesticide, and fish medicine.
