Magnesium Alloy Sacrificial Anode Installation Design

The magnesium anodes produced by our company use high-quality raw materials for production. With a high negative potential and large electrical output per unit mass, they are ideal sacrificial anode materials. They are suitable for the cathodic protection of metal structures in mediums such as soil, freshwater, and seawater, including oil and gas pipelines, storage tanks, heat exchangers, condensers, etc.

Magnesium anodes have the following characteristics:

1. Low specific gravity and relatively negative potential

2. High driving voltage for iron, low current efficiency

3. Particularly suitable for high-resistivity mediums (for resistivity greater than 100 ohms, it is recommended to use ribbon magnesium anodes)

Magnesium anodes are suitable for the anti-corrosion protection of oil and gas transmission pipelines, water supply and drainage pipelines, reservoir gates, and buried pipelines in freshwater.

Component configuration: One sacrificial anode of any model. Commonly used cable insulation/jacket types include: PVC/PVC, XLPE/PVC, HMWPE. Cable specifications include: 6 square millimeters, 10 square millimeters, and 16 square millimeters. Jiaozuo Libo Light Alloy Co., Ltd.

Precautions when installing magnesium anodes:

1. Avoid impact with steel structures

2. When used in soil, they should be buried in low-lying and damp areas

3. When used in soil, the anode must be placed in a backfill bag before burial

4. In dry soil areas, after placing the anode in the pit, the backfill material should be thoroughly soaked with water before backfilling to ensure the anode conducts electricity effectively.

A complete set of magnesium anodes includes: one magnesium anode ingot, one VV-10mm2 cable (3 meters), 50kg of backfill material, one cotton cloth bag, and one plastic woven bag. The bare anode is first connected to the cable, and the connection point is sealed with epoxy resin. It is then encapsulated with backfill material in a cotton cloth bag. The magnesium anode ingot is accompanied by 50kg of evenly distributed backfill material.
