Liquid-solid separation is an essential unit operation in industries such as chemical engineering, pharmaceuticals, and food processing. Based on research into China’s powdered activated carbon filtration equipment sector within the pharmaceutical and chemical industries, it was found that the equipment used for decolorization filtration with powdered activated carbon in the production of bulk drugs and formulations is largely outdated. In response, our company’s R&D team has successfully developed the SHK plate and frame filter press. Currently, this filtration equipment produced by our company has been put into use in pharmaceutical and chemical production, demonstrating excellent filtration performance. Structure: The SHK filter consists of a cylinder, filter plates, sight glasses, a bidirectional compression device, and a recirculation pipeline system. When the feed valve is opened, filtration begins, and the filtrate is delivered to the designated storage tank. Working Principle: The slurry is pumped into the filter. Once the upper vent valve indicates that the filter is filled with slurry, feeding is stopped. The recirculation pipeline system is activated to allow the slurry to undergo cyclic filtration within the filter body. By monitoring the sight glass, when visual inspection confirms that the quality meets requirements, the recirculation system is closed, the discharge valve is opened, and filtration commences. The filtrate is then transported to the specified storage tank. The stainless steel powdered activated carbon filter is available in two types: Type 1 and Type 2. Type 1 features heating and insulation, while Type 2 is standard.
