Pine Pollen This product is the dried pollen of Pinus yunnanensis, Pinus massoniana Lamb., Pinus tabulaeformis Carr., or several other species of the same genus in the family Pinaceae. 【Preparation】 Branches with flowers are collected 4-5 days before blooming. When the pine flowers naturally open, the branches are gently tapped with a wooden stick to release the pollen. The collected pollen undergoes processing steps such as screening, washing, sterilization, and wall-breaking. 【Characteristics】 This product appears as a fine, pale yellow powder. It is lightweight, easily dispersible, and has good flowability. When rubbed between fingers, it feels smooth and lubricating. It has a faint aroma, a mild taste with the fragrance of pine nuts, and no off-odors. 【Identification】 Under microscopic observation, the pollen grains are elliptical, measuring 45–55 μm in length and 29–40 μm in diameter. The surface is smooth, with an inflated air sac on each side.
