Process Principle
Free CO? in water can make the water acidic, as shown in the reaction: CO? + H?O → H? + HCO??. The H? in water can cause hydrogen depolarization corrosion in metals such as carbon steel, damaging iron components. The reaction is as follows: H? + 2e? → H?
Fe → Fe2? + 2e?
Especially in high-temperature, unbuffered chemically demineralized water, free CO? significantly accelerates steel corrosion. Therefore, this electrochemical reaction must be suppressed. Adding ammonia to water increases the pH, effectively inhibiting the dissociation of H? and thereby controlling metal corrosion.
Process Overview
This device mainly consists of five parts: the chemical dosing system, dissolution and mixing system, metering and feeding system, safety system, and control system.
Ammonia water is drawn into the metering system by a water ejector, then proportionally added to the dissolution and mixing system to mix uniformly with demineralized water or condensate water. It is then fed into the boiler condensate or feedwater by the metering and feeding system. Dosing control can be manual or follow-up control based on signals from the upper-level system for automatic dosing.
Scope of Application
Treatment of condensate and feedwater for medium-pressure and higher parameter boilers.
