The product is used for general qualitative analysis and for filtering precipitates or suspended matter in solutions. Qualitative filter paper generally employs natural filtration, utilizing the paper body's ability to retain solid particles to separate liquids and solids, offering good filtration and absorption performance with high compressive strength.

Qualitative filter paper typically has a higher residual ash content and is only suitable for general qualitative analysis and filtering precipitates or suspended matter in solutions; it cannot be used for quantitative analysis.

Product Description

The types and specifications of qualitative analysis filter paper are basically the same as those of quantitative analysis filter paper, indicating fast, medium, and slow speeds, with the words "fast," "medium," and "slow" printed on them. However, the boxes containing the filter paper do not use quantitative and qualitative analysis filter paper. When filtering precipitates, note the following:

① Generally, natural filtration is used, leveraging the filter paper body and its ability to retain solid particles to separate liquids and solids;

② Due to the poor mechanical strength and toughness of filter paper, avoid using suction filtration as much as possible. If filtration speed must be increased, to prevent filtration failure due to breakthrough, when using air pump filtration, place 2-3 layers of filter paper in the funnel depending on the suction force. For vacuum filtration, first place a dense filter cloth in the funnel, then place the filter paper on top for filtration;

③ It is best not to filter hot nitric acid solutions with filter paper.
