Silicon carbide is extremely hard and is widely used as an abrasive and grinding agent for hard materials such as machinery and hard ceramics. It is used to manufacture other silicides and wear-resistant components such as bearings, nozzles, grinding wheels, and engine parts. It also serves as a wear-enhancing agent in composite materials and has extensive applications in aerospace, aviation, nuclear energy, and other fields. Additionally, silicon carbide is a special welding material and refractory material. The natural bulk density of silicon carbide abrasives ranges from 1.2 to 1.6 g/mm3, with a specific gravity of 3.20–3.25. Green silicon carbide is primarily produced from petroleum coke and silica, with salt added as a raw material. Spiral Nozzle The silicon carbide spiral nozzle is a distinctive type among many nozzles. As the spiral body continuously tapers, the slurry changes direction along the spiral tangent and collides, forming a conical spray in concentric layers. The liquid flows unobstructed from the nozzle cavity to the outlet. The silicon carbide large-flow nozzle, also known as the reaction-sintered silicon carbide desulfurization nozzle, is a key component in desulfurization and dust removal systems for thermal power plants and large boilers. Domestically produced reaction-sintered silicon carbide desulfurization nozzles are gradually replacing imported products, offering high strength, high hardness, resistance to strong corrosion, severe wear, and high temperatures, with an extended service life under harsh conditions. Both coal-fired power plants and integrated gasification combined cycle systems share the common task of desulfurization and denitrification (as well as dust removal).
