Applicability of Air Jet Mills in Polyanionic Material Processing

1. Advantages of Low-Temperature Grinding

Air jet mills achieve a low-temperature environment (close to room temperature) through adiabatic expansion of compressed air, making them particularly suitable for grinding heat-sensitive materials (such as sugar-containing, low-melting-point, or easily decomposable polyanionic compounds), avoiding chemical structure damage caused by high temperatures.

2. Requirement for Sealed Inert Environments

If polyanionic materials are sensitive to water and oxygen (such as sulfide solid-state electrolytes), grinding must be conducted under the protection of inert gases (nitrogen, argon). Sealed isolation-type air jet mills can operate entirely within glove boxes or inert atmospheres, preventing material oxidation or hydrolysis.

3. High Purity and Low Contamination

The equipment lining can be made of materials such as tungsten carbide or silicon carbide ceramic (Mohs hardness 9.6), which hardly introduce impurities, meeting the high-purity requirements of polyanionic materials.
