The UK ABI-3200 circuit board repair tester is a simplified version of the ABI-3400. It can analyze components and entire boards under static (non-powered) conditions. Utilizing a unique three-dimensional V-I-F dynamic impedance testing method, it measures electrical signal curves, detects errors/flaws, including internally damaged components and inconsistent components, expanding the scope of problem detection while reducing testing time!

2. Hardware Configuration:

1) Features 32-channel digital V-I dynamic impedance testing (expandable to 2048 channels).

2) *Features 32 V-I-F and V-I test channels, 2 probe test channels, and 2 sets of synchronous pulses. Equipped with variable-frequency three-dimensional V-I-F measurement mode, it displays the port characteristic curves of components in three dimensions. It can detect faults related to component frequency. Three-dimensional and two-dimensional views can be switched, and electrical parameter values (V/I) such as voltage and current can be displayed on the two-dimensional graph. Expandable to 2048 V-I-F test channels.

3) *The system can perform port tests on various components: V-I, V-T, V-I-F, V-T-F testing. Two-dimensional V-I testing operates at frequencies as low as 1Hz and as high as 10kHz, making it highly suitable for testing inductors and high-frequency capacitors. The amplitude and width of synchronous pulse signals can be set for functional testing of thyristor components or FETs.

What is V/I Curve Testing?

For analog and digital circuit boards, V/I curve testing is a mature and reliable solution. By applying an AC voltage to a test point through a current-limiting resistor, the resulting current is measured, and the results are plotted as a voltage/current graph, displaying the characteristic curve of the test point.

Analyzing V/I curves, typically by comparing them to a reference point, detects issues such as: Leakage current components. Internally damaged components. Components with incorrect values.

Inconsistent components.

Short circuits and open circuits.

Variable Frequency Scanning Method---Expands Problem Detection Range!

The ABI-3200 expands the problem detection range by varying the frequency of the AC voltage of the V/I signal. The resulting curves are plotted in a 3D window, allowing users to observe changes in V/I curves across the entire frequency range, thereby identifying issues invisible to standard V/I analysis methods.

Matrix Scanning V/I-----Expands Problem Detection Range!

The ABI-3200 module can also use matrix scanning to obtain V/I curves, expanding the problem detection range. In this mode, the ABI-3200 module obtains V/I curves for each pin of a component or circuit board by referencing all other active pins (unlike standard V/I testing, which uses only one reference pin). This generates a rich dataset (400 curves for a 20-pin component), sufficient to detect hard-to-find faults.
