This pigment variety is a barium salt lake, providing a neutral red light. Due to its less ideal heat stability, its application in plastics is limited; it is mainly used for ink coloring, especially for publication gravure inks. Resin-treated formulations can reduce its bronzing phenomenon; specialized formulations are suitable for aqueous inks.
