Usage
2-Ethylhexanoic Acid is used to produce metal salts such as cobalt, manganese, lead, zinc, calcium, zirconium, and rare earths. It serves as a drying agent for coatings, a promoter and catalyst for unsaturated polyester resins, a stabilizer and additive for PVC plastics. In ester production, it is used to make bactericides, preservatives, metal lubricants, gasoline additives, and biological growth promoters, among other chemical auxiliaries. In the rubber industry, it functions as a thickener and gelling agent. It is also a raw material for pharmaceuticals such as ampicillin and carbenicillin, as well as a high-quality material for synthesizing premium coating resins.
