Uses

Main Uses: Dimethylformamide (DMF) is an important chemical raw material and an excellent solvent, as well as a key intermediate in organic synthesis. In the pesticide industry, it is used to produce chlordimeform; in the pharmaceutical industry, it is used to synthesize sulfadiazine, doxycycline, cortisone, vitamin B6, etc. DMF also has catalytic properties, lowering reaction temperatures and improving product purity. Although it is known as a "universal solvent".

Firefighting Measures

Use alcohol-resistant foam, carbon dioxide, dry powder, or sand to extinguish fires. In critical situations, use water to keep containers cool.

First Aid Treatment

Low toxicity. If splashed on clothing or skin, remove clothing and rinse skin with water. If splashed into eyes, lift eyelids and rinse with running water or saline solution for 15 minutes. If inhaled, move to fresh air, administer oxygen, perform artificial respiration, and seek medical attention. If ingested, induce vomiting and seek medical help.

Packaging, Storage, Transportation

Can be packaged in painted iron drums (190kg/drum), plastic drums (190kg/drum), or stainless steel pressure tanks. Store in a cool, well-ventilated warehouse, protected from light and heat. Sealed drum storage has a shelf life of one year. Atmospheric tank storage is less effective than drum storage and is not suitable for long-term storage. Transport according to hazardous material requirements.
