1. Analgesic effect: (1) Medium frequency current can excite the thick fibers of peripheral nerves, and through "gate" control, inhibit the thin fibers that transmit pain sensations, achieving an analgesic effect. (2) Medium frequency current can dilate blood vessels, promote blood circulation, and accelerate the removal of local pain-inducing substances. (3) Medium frequency electrical stimulation can also cause the human body to release morphine-like substances with analgesic effects.

2. Improve local blood circulation and promote the dissipation of inflammation:

(1) Axon reflex and triple response: The axon reflex refers to when current acts on the surface of the human body, the electrical stimulation travels through the afferent nerves to the posterior horn of the spinal cord, exciting the efferent nerves, causing the small arteries of the skin to dilate, resulting in diffuse redness on the skin surface under the electrode. When the skin is stimulated, it also releases substances such as histamine, substance P, and acetylcholine, which can dilate arteries.
