The insulation resistance tester (megohmmeter) is a specialized instrument for measuring insulation resistance. The JJG662-89 "Insulation Resistance Meter (Megohmmeter)" approved for implementation in May 1990 has designated it as a mandatory calibration instrument. Currently, electrical equipment (such as transformers, generators, etc.) is trending towards larger capacity, higher voltage, diverse structures, and sealed designs.
