Working Principle
The rotary vane pump mainly consists of the pump body, rotor, vanes, end cover, spring, etc. A rotor is eccentrically installed inside the pump chamber, with its outer circle tangent to the inner surface of the pump chamber (with a very small gap between them). Two vanes with springs are placed in the rotor slots, dividing the stator into two working chambers (high and low stage working chambers). During rotation, centrifugal force and spring tension keep the top of the vanes in contact with the inner wall of the pump chamber. The rotation of the rotor drives the vanes to slide along the inner wall of the pump chamber, causing the volume of the high-stage working chamber to periodically expand for suction, and the volume of the low-stage working chamber to periodically shrink to compress the gas. The gas and oil pressure push open the exhaust valve to discharge the gas, thereby achieving vacuum. When the suction pressure is high (e.g., starting from atmospheric pressure), the gas is compressed in the high-stage chamber, and the pressure increases rapidly. Part of the compressed gas is directly discharged through the auxiliary exhaust valve, while the remaining gas is compressed and enters the low-stage chamber through the interstage passage in the middle wall. After further compression, it is discharged from the low-stage exhaust valve. In this case, both the high and low-stage chambers discharge simultaneously. When the suction pressure is low (e.g., after the pump has been running for some time), gas enters the high-stage chamber through the suction port. The pressure generated by compression in the high-stage chamber is insufficient to push open the auxiliary exhaust valve, so the gas directly enters the low-stage working chamber through the interstage passage. After further compression, it is discharged from the low-stage exhaust valve.

It can be widely used in processes such as vacuum smelting, vacuum welding, vacuum impregnation, vacuum coating, vacuum heat treatment, vacuum drying, and vacuum packaging in industries like refrigerators, air conditioners, light bulbs, fluorescent lamps, vacuum flask production, electronics, metallurgy, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, oil filters, printing machinery, and packaging machines. It can serve as a backing pump for diffusion pumps, Roots pumps, molecular pumps, etc., and is used for supporting electronic instruments, medical instruments, and experimental research applications.

Precautions
1. The pump can operate continuously for extended periods under environmental temperatures of 5–40°C and an inlet pressure of less than 1330 Pa.
2. If equipped with a gas ballast device, the pump can also remove a certain amount of condensable gas. However, it is not suitable for removing gases with excessively high oxygen content, toxic gases, explosive gases, gases corrosive to metals, gases that react chemically with pump oil, or gases containing particulate dust. It also cannot be used as a transfer pump.
3. The continuous operation time of the pump under inlet pressures ranging from atmospheric pressure to 6000 Pa should not exceed 3 minutes to avoid oil spraying or poor lubrication, which could damage the pump.
4. The oil level should be at the center of the oil gauge. A high oil level may cause oil spraying, while a low oil level may result in poor lubrication. The oil level should be checked while the pump is running. It is best to change the vacuum pump oil while the pump is running, as this facilitates thorough replacement and helps discharge impurities from the pump chamber as much as possible.
