TTA Tolyltriazole

TTA Tolyltriazole is hygroscopic, difficult to dissolve in water, soluble in alcohols, benzene, chloroform, and other organic solvents, and can also dissolve in dilute alkaline solutions.

TTA can be used as a rust inhibitor and corrosion inhibitor for non-ferrous metals (such as silver, copper, lead, nickel, zinc, etc.), primarily applied to copper and copper alloys, and also effective for ferrous metals. TTA adsorbs onto the metal surface to form a thin protective film, shielding copper and other metals from corrosion by harmful media in the atmosphere and water. It forms a more uniform film, and its effectiveness is enhanced when used in combination with sodium mercaptobenzothiazole (MBT·Na).

Product Parameters

Usage Method: Dissolve TTA in alcohol or alkali and add it to the circulating water. The concentration in water should be 2-10 mg/L. If non-ferrous metals in the water system are severely corroded, add this product at 5-10 times the normal concentration to rapidly passivate the system.

Application Areas

● Widely used in rust preventive oils (greases), often as a vapor corrosion inhibitor for copper and copper alloys, circulating water treatment agents, automotive antifreeze, polymer stabilizers, plant growth regulators, lubricant additives, UV absorbers, etc.;

● It can also be used in combination with various scale inhibitors and biocides, particularly showing excellent corrosion inhibition effects in closed circulating cooling water systems.
