The high voltage switch HES 08/01 can be used as a high voltage relay or grounding switch. The control voltage is 24VDC, with high voltage at 100 kV.

Intended Use:
The HES 08/01 high voltage switch is only intended for use in stationary electrostatic installations that comply with at least one of the following standard safety requirements:
EN 50176 "Stationary electrostatic application equipment for flammable liquid coatings"
EN 50348 "Stationary electrostatic application equipment for non-flammable liquid coatings"
EN 50177 "Stationary electrostatic spraying equipment for flammable liquid coatings"
EN 50223 "Stationary electrostatic application equipment for flammable flock materials".

The high voltage switch mainly consists of a high voltage switching element operating in insulating oil, an electromechanical actuator, and a terminal box. The housing is cast from robust insulating resin, and the high voltage connection is designed for dry installation of high voltage cables. The design of the high voltage switch allows it to function as an opener, closer, changer, or grounding switch (see connection examples).

Only damped high voltage cables are permitted for use as grounding switches, e.g., SCHNIER code: 050028 or 050029 as grounding wires.
Grounding wires should use damped high voltage cables at least 2m in length.
The common switching contact is designed as a double contact for connecting detection or discharge resistors.
