Uses and Effects:

1. Silane coupling agent KH-792 can be used as an additive or formulated as a primer for coatings, inks, adhesives, and sealants such as phenolic, urea-formaldehyde, furan, polyurethane, silicone, epoxy, nitrile, phenolic, acrylic, etc., to improve the adhesion, corrosion resistance, weather resistance, boiling water resistance, and scrub resistance of resin coatings, extend service life, and enhance the dispersion and bonding of pigments and fillers in the resin phase.

2. This product can be used in resin sand casting and resin abrasive tools to improve the bonding strength and water resistance between the resin and silica sand or abrasives.

3. Silane coupling agent KH-792 can be used in plastics, rubber, resins, and low-smoke zero-halogen flame-retardant cable materials filled with mineral fillers or glass fibers to improve the dispersion and bonding of fillers and fibers in the resin phase.

4. This product can be used for the surface treatment of inorganic mineral fillers, flame retardants, and glass fibers to improve their dispersion, compatibility, bonding strength, and reinforcement effect in the resin phase.

Role of Silane Coupling Agent KH-792 in Water-Based Coatings

Within the interfacial layer between the coating base and the substrate, silane coupling agent KH-792 interacts with the coating base, forming a network structure where the silane and coating base interpenetrate. This enhances cohesion and stability against water erosion and allows stress to transfer from the high-modulus substrate to the low-modulus coating base, significantly improving adhesion to the substrate.

Treating pigments or fillers with silane coupling agent KH-792 makes them easier to wet by the base material, ensuring stable dispersion in the base material and preventing sedimentation and agglomeration. After surface modification with silane coupling agent KH-792, the viscosity of the coating is significantly reduced. Even with increased amounts of pigments and fillers, the fluidity of the coating is not affected, thereby increasing coating production and reducing production costs.

With the rapid development of high-performance and high-functional coatings, the application of silicones in functional coatings is gradually increasing. This places new and higher demands on the performance and application technology of coupling agents, requiring the development of new silanes with unique properties to achieve excellent application results. Additionally, the trend is shifting from single use to the combined use of multiple types.
