PEG-200: Can be used as a medium in organic synthesis and as a high-demand heat transfer fluid. In the daily chemical industry, it is used as a humectant, inorganic salt solubilizer, and viscosity modifier. In the textile industry, it serves as a softener and antistatic agent. In the paper and pesticide industries, it is used as a wetting agent.
PEG-400: PEG-400 is suitable for making soft capsules. As a liquid, PEG-400 has broad compatibility with various solvents, making it an excellent solvent and solubilizer. It is widely used in liquid formulations such as oral liquids and eye drops. When vegetable oil is unsuitable as a carrier for active ingredients, PEG is the material of choice. This is mainly due to its stability and resistance to spoilage. PEG-containing injections are safe and stable when heated to 150°C. Additionally, it can be mixed with higher molecular weight PEGs, and the mixture exhibits excellent solubility and good drug compatibility.

Suppositories using a PEG base are less irritating than those using traditional fat bases.
