The Wet Electrostatic Precipitator (WESP) is a new type of dust removal equipment used to handle trace dust and fine particles. It is primarily employed to remove harmful substances such as dust, acid mist, water droplets, aerosols, odors, and PM2.5 from humid gases, making it an ideal device for controlling atmospheric dust pollution. Below is some detailed information about the Wet Electrostatic Precipitator: 

Working Principle: Under the influence of a high DC voltage, the metal discharge wires ionize the gas around their electrodes, causing dust or mist particles to become charged on their surfaces. The charged particles move toward the collection electrode under the force of the electric field and deposit on it. Water flows down from the top of the collection plate, forming a uniform and stable water film that washes away the particles on the plate. Dust-laden gas, drawn by a fan, enters the WESP through the inlet. Under high-voltage electrostatic adsorption, a large amount of dust adheres to the inner surface of the tubes. The spray system nozzles spray water mist from top to bottom, enhancing dust charging, adsorbing dust, and flushing the inner surface of the tubes to ensure better adsorption efficiency. After the dust is washed down by electrostatic forces and spraying, it enters a sewage filtration tank, where dust and fine particles are removed through filtration. The filtered water can be recycled for use in the spray system.

8. Simple operation, capable of automated control; 

9. Effectively collects aerosol mists and sub-micron particles in flue gas, addressing issues such as gypsum rain; 

10. SO3 removal efficiency can exceed 92%; 

11. Effectively reduces flue gas opacity, which can be less than 10%; 

12. Long service life, typically over 10 years.

Structural Forms: 

1. Use corrosion-resistant conductive materials (e.g., non-metallic materials with excellent conductivity or metallic materials with corrosion-resistant properties) as collection electrodes; 

2. Use non-conductive non-metallic materials that form a conductive water film through water spraying or overflow as collection electrodes. Based on the exhaust gas flow direction, it can be classified into cross-flow (horizontal) and vertical-flow (vertical) types. Cross-flow types are mostly plate structures, with gas flowing horizontally in and out. Vertical-flow types are mostly tubular structures, with gas flowing vertically in and out. For the same cross-sectional flow area, the efficiency of vertical-flow WESPs is typically twice that of cross-flow types. 

Applicable Fields: Widely used in industries such as steel, chemicals, metallurgy, power plants, steel mills, biomass boilers, coal-fired boilers, drying furnaces, kilns, waste incinerators, sintering furnaces, smelting furnaces, and coking plants. It can also be used to treat acid mist and dense fog generated from metal surface pickling, as well as high-temperature, high-humidity, and hazardous waste gases, such as dust-laden flue gas treatment after wet desulfurization in power plants and deep treatment of flue gas from denitrification catalyst production kilns.
